Therapeutic Boarding Schools Are Effective, But Not Always the Best Option for Troubled Teens from Duncanville, TX

Therapeutic boarding schools have often been used to treat troubled teen’s conditions. But how often does treating the problem this way result in undesired affects? Oftentimes, the teen will lose touch with their family and feel as if they were abandoned and un-loved. Should struggling teenagers be sent far away from their home in Duncanville, TX? We don’t think so.

I.O.P. – A More Ideal Situation for Teens from Duncanville, TX

These solutions were inadequate for us here at Waterford Academy, so we sought to find a better alternative by implementing an Intensive Outpatient Treatment Program for teenage boys and girls, or as we like to call it, a “Therapeutic Day School.” We found that when the teen stays with us during the day to receive their treatment and education, then going home at night is crucial in their rehabilitation. Maintaining a good family relationship is key in a long lasting recovery.

Waterford Academy knows how difficult of a time this can be. If you are a parent of a struggling teen and are looking into treatment for your child, please don’t hesitate to call Waterford Academy for a free consultation. We can be reached at 866-439-0355.

We here at Waterford want you to expect the best possible treatment. We seek to help the family understand the child’s condition by having family therapy sessions. Knowing the process helps the parents relate to the circumstances, helping the child feel loved during the process. It is our goal to maintain the love that you have provided them, while they receive the necessary treatment.

Duncanville, TX – Is your child’s social media lifestyle being taken to extremes? The origin of Duncanville can be traced as far back as 1840, with the community’s beginning as a small settlement. It was not until some forty years later, with the construction of the Chicago, Texas and Mexican Central Railroad connecting Dallas and Cleburne that Duncanville began to emerge as a town. The coming of the railroad to Duncanville changed the community. The railroad line connecting Dallas to Cleburne was to be completed not later than April 15, 1881. With time running short to complete the railroad on time, a shortened method of railroad construction was adopted at an open field owned by James R. Horne and G.H. Finley. Doing this allowed the railroad to arrive in Cleburne two hours ahead of the deadline and a switching station was later built in the open field. It was called Duncan switch.
